About the Course

This 2-Day course is designed to lay solid foundations before diving deep into complex DAX functions. This is achieved by focusing on 2 key elements i.e. engagement, and practicality. Participants will be spending their time writing hands-on DAX functions, looking at the result, discussing what works, and especially what does not work and WHY? Additionally, all the modules and concepts are reinforced by real-life, scenario-based examples to solidify the learnings.

After this course, participants should be able to write DAX expressions to address their specific business needs, leverage available resources to tackle complex problems, debug and optimize using available tools and the right techniques. Moreover, the entire course walks through a single data set so participants can concentrate on mastering the concepts rather than worrying about the specifics of the dataset.

Who should do this course?

This course is for business users (Finance, Marketing, Operations etc.) or SQL Server report creators who want to take their reports and dashboards to a next level by writing custom calculations using DAX functions to address specific business requirements.

Prerequisites

This DAX course is suitable for people who have either completed the Power BI essentials course or have a reasonable understanding of data modeling concepts. To benefit most from this course, basic knowledge in using Excel functions or SQL queries is recommended.

FANTASTIC course, super informative and explanatory BUT very intensive - would recommend taking more breaks - especially towards the end of the second day - since some of the more technical code is covered, by my attention span is diminishing - BUT AWESOME content and great instructor

Great course. Learnt a lot about DAX and functions that you would encounter in the real world. Great explanation about everything and how to fundamentally understand what we're trying to do.

This was a great course and extremely well delivered. The course was well-structured and easy to follow, covering everything from fundamental concepts to more advanced calculations with practical, real-world examples. The content was presented in a logical sequence, the complex topics were broken down into smaller concepts made easy to follow. It was a bit fast paced considering the content that had to be covered. Adam was outstanding and very kind to answer all my requests and went out of the way to teach the hierarchal concepts. I would have liked to spend some more time doing a deep dive in filtering techniques and complex filter conditions across multiple columns. But I am aware that it would be challenging in the given timeframe. Overall a great course; I will happily recommend to anyone looking to improve their Power Bi skills.

without a doubt - amazing - Adam is both a brilliant communicator - with great knowledge and keeps people both engaged and deals with our unique 'requirements' and questions. He is fast - but that is half the fun.... the fellow attendees - we all were running with it.. questions - lots of them - and always answered...

Adam was a fantastic facilitator and maintained great energy and pace over the course of the two days. He made the group feel comfortable asking questions and explained all of the concepts in logical and easy to understand terms. I appreciated the opportunity to develop the foundation for my understanding of how DAX formulas operate and interact with PBI datasets and feel much more confident about using these expressions in the future.
